The core resource for informing your work and supporting your practice

Key Topics

In this area you will find information relevant to much of your work with Sage.  Bringing all of this information together will take time and we are currently prioritising Nursing Homes and Consent & Decision Making. While we are developing the system please use our ComhRábot (Search) as it may well provide the information you need through related sources such as Citizens Information.

If you spot something that you think needs to be brought to our attention please use Feedback. Please also try out the Resource buttons: Templates & Tools    Maps & Data Sources  Glossaries    Organisation

Culture & Practice

Culture, in this context, simply means ‘how we do things around here’.  Practice refers to the understanding and skills needed to work with Sage; underpinned by core values.  Here you will find resources and guidance on everything from our six Quality Standards to our Decision Making Model.  You can also use it to develop your communication skills, prepare yourself for a visit to a client, understand complex case scenarios and check our dress code.

The Lone Haranguer

The Lone Haranguer is a character from the famous cartoon series ‘The Wizard of Id’. S/he is a phantom heckler who rides past the King’s window at night. No one has ever succeeded in capturing or identifying him/her.

Here you will find something to amuse and help make your life more ‘interesting’. It is also a place where you can go to answer important questions…… and maybe win a prize!!!

This section is overseen by three members of staff known as The Committee of the Serious. Their task is to encourage staff to use learning resources.

Symbols

The following symbols are used to guide your use of the system.  The ComhRábot (Chatbot) is our search icon.  The Llama and the Goat will be less often seen and they are indicators of helpfulness and difficulty respectively.  The Eagle is a ‘legal eagle’ and wherever you see it you are strongly advised to consult the Legal Support Unit before proceeding to work on a related issue.
